My journey in the exploration of mind/body and human potential began with the study of psychology in 1994. After recognizing the limitations of clinical psychology, I shifted to study sound engineering and music business in Austin where I dabbled in the Austin music scene and co-owned and operated a recording studio. I spent some time on hiatus from the music industry working on organic farms in Maine, taking some time to make a decision on whether to return to Austin to either study Traditional Chinese Medicine or philosophy at the University of Texas. A degree in Philosophy tied everything together that I was drawn to explore: ancient world religions, metaphysics (the nature of reality), ethics, environmental ethics, the relationship of humanity to nature and the cosmos, the relationship between mind and matter, truth in the context of self and society, the psychology of architecture and nature, ecology, epistemology.
I returned to San Angelo in 2004 to raise children, open up an organic health food store and restaurant, and to begin restoring a family farm to native grassland on the Concho river… Here I was brought back to the practice of yoga. It was the return to yoga that converged the previous endeavors in music, psychology, wholistic medicine and agriculture, and philosophy, into developing sound meditation classes after a workshop and gong practitioner course with a gong Master in Austin in 2022. In all my explorations, it seems to me that sound is one of THE most powerful tools we can use to transform the mind and body and this is the focus and intention of Shama Sound Healing!✨

Angie is a dedicated yoga teacher, mobility specialist, and certified exercise therapist with over a decade of experience helping people move pain-free and live with strength, balance, and vitality. Specializing in yoga, functional movement, and posture correction, she blends traditional yoga practices with modern movement science to empower her students to unlock their physical potential through mindful, intentional movement.
Angie’s journey into yoga began in 2012 when she discovered its transformative power. Drawn to the dynamic and grounding nature of the practice, she immersed herself in learning, studying under renowned instructors, and honing her skills both on and off the mat. However, after a serious back and hip injury and a C-section, her perspective on movement shifted. These experiences taught her the importance of listening to her body, reconnecting with her core and pelvic floor, and adapting her practice to support healing and strength from within.
These personal challenges made Angie a more compassionate and knowledgeable teacher, giving her a deep understanding of how to guide others through their own journeys of recovery and growth. Her classes integrate yoga principles with functional movement and mobility techniques, offering a holistic approach that promotes flexibility, strength, and body awareness.
Angie places a strong emphasis on alignment, breath, and mindful movement, helping students improve their posture both on and off the mat. Whether you’re managing shoulder, back, hip, or knee pain, or simply looking to deepen your practice, Angie’s approach is tailored to meet your unique needs and goals.
As a wife and mom living in West Texas, Angie understands the demands of balancing life, family, and self-care. She is passionate about helping others incorporate everyday movement habits that support not just flexibility and strength, but overall vitality and well-being.
Join Angie to reconnect with your body, move with intention, and cultivate strength, balance, and resilience—on and off the mat.
